Explore Hyspan’s range of flexible expansion joints designed to address temperature-induced expansion, noise absorption, anti-vibration, and more for various applications.

Founded in 1968, Hyspan maintains a staff of engineers and quality personnel experienced in the design, development and testing of metal bellows expansion joints, packed slip expansion joints and ball joints for industrial applications including the most severe operating and environmental conditions.  Typical joints are usually manufactured out of metal (stainless steel), plastic (such as PTFE), fabric (glass fibre) or an elastomer (rubber).

Today, Hyspan has continued to develop essential joint expansion proprietary products, whilst acquiring six subsidiary companies which provide related products. Company standards and registrations include the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code including a “U” stamp, the European Pressure Equipment Directive and the Canadian Boiler and Pressure Vessel Registration.  The company is a member of the Expansion Joint Manufacturers Association.

Flexible expansion joints are designed to safely absorb temperature induced expansion and contraction, noise-absorption, anti-vibration, movement due to ground settlement or earthquakes. Applications include buildings, bridges, sidewalks, railway tracks, piping systems, ships. Also a necessity in systems that convey high temperature substances such as steam or exhaust gases. Without expansion joints, pipes and structure are susceptible to cracks and breaks, due to the stress induced.
