Nicholas McIntyre, Applications Specialist at Rosco Procom’s Rigging and Lifting Division, presenting on Cargo Carrying Unit (CCU) safety awareness in both onshore and offshore environments at EOG Resources, quarterly safety meeting.

The session covered CCU types, structural components, industry standards (ISO 10855, DNV-ST-E271, API 2CCU), proper marking and data plate requirements and the importance of pre-trip inspections.

Dropped object hazards, lifting set and shackle inspections and common defects like corrosion and deformation, were also discussed.

The presentation concluded with a review of periodic inspection intervals and best practices for safe, compliant offshore CCU operations.
